Dr. Otieno Fredrick Onyango holds a B.Sc degree
in Physics and Mathematics from Kenyatta University and a
Masters degree in Physics from University of Nairobi. He obtained
his PhD from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology
in 2006 focusing on determination of thermophysical properties
of electrical conductors during sub-second heating.
In January 2007, he joined the Physics department of Kigali
Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), becoming its Head
in January 2008. While at KIST he has taught electrodynamics,
Classical Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism and Mathematical
Physics to undergraduate students, but he is also keen on
electronics & instrumentation subjects from where he has
graduated M.Sc. theses researches.
His research interests encompass Thermophysical properties
determination, modeling and simulation of physical phenomena
and electronics instrumentation.
