Professor Minani Longin has an MSc from Tufts University(USA) and a PhD from the University of Kentucky in Lexington(USA) in 1981 and 1989 respectively.

He joined KIST in June 2006 and was assigned Head of Mechanical Engineering Department on 3rd October 2006. Prior to joining KIST Professor Minani Longin was Professor and researcher of Mechanical Engineering at the Burundi Public University and Burundi Military Academy from 1990.

He was also Visiting Professor sponsored by the Association of Universities using partially or entirely the French Language (AUPELF). He has published many papers for referred journals, conferences, and consultancy or research reports related mainly to energy.
