Jonathan Peter Mwakijele is the Head of Computer Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) Department since January 2009; Coordinator of Master of Communications Management (MCM) Programme and a Lecturer since January 2007. He worked with Soft-Tech Consultants Ltd in Dar es salaam, Tanzania prior to joining KIST in 1997.

He received his Bachelor of Science with Computer Science from University of Dar es salaam in 1996, Master’s Degree of Communications Management at KIST in 2006 and Master of Science in Engineering and Manufacturing Management (EMM) in 2008 at Coventry University, UK. During the ITU Conference on Human Capital Development in July 2008 at Warwick, he was offered a scholarship by UKTA to pursue PhD at Coventry University and he registered in September 2008.
