Mbereyaho Léopold is currently the Dean, Faculty of Engeneering and Lecturer in Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology.

Mbereyaho Léopold completed his studies (Bsc, Msc, PhD) at Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia in 2001. He did his Bsc and Msc studies in Civil Engineering, and for PhD studies he preferred the specialization in Structural Mechanics.

After completion of his studies, he worked in different domains especially in Construction Industry and for a short time in Education as a Lecturer of the course of Structural Mechanics in the same university where he completed his studies.

He joined KIST in 2005, where he was appointed as Lecturer in Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology.
From 2007 – June 2009, he was an academic quality assurance coordinator of Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology.
In May 2009, he was appointed as a member of KIST committee to establish relevance of academic programmes.

From May 2009 to May 2010, he was Acting Head of Department of Architecture.
Mbereyaho Léopold, as a lecturer concentrates his activities in teaching, research and consultancy. He especially supports the teaching activities in some other Rwandan High Institutions.
From 2005 up to now, he is a visiting lecturer at Kigali Health Institute (KHI), where he developed and teaches the course module of Building Construction and Technology.

From 2006 up to September 2009, he was a visiting lecturer at National University of Rwanda (NUR), where he developed and teaches the courses of Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures, and Bridges and Special Structures.
His teaching activities are concentrated in the area of Structures and Building Constructions, where he teaches such Courses as Reinforced Concrete Structures, Design of Steel and Timber Structures, Bridges and Special Structures, Building Technology, Solid and Structural Mechanics, Strength of Materials, etc. In this area he supervised yet 35 undergraduate research projects: 18 projects from KIST, 16 from NUR and 1 from KHI.

From January 2006 Mbereyaho Léopold is time to time invited by Rwanda Bureau of Standards (RBS) for consultation, where he was a member of a committee for implementation of Rwandan Standards for Building Materials and Construction.
Mbereyaho Léopold orients his research activities in the area of Buildings and Structures Safety where he has already some published and unpublished materials.
Mbereyaho Léopold has a POSTGRADUATE CERTIFICATE WITH DISTINCTION in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, certificate in Teaching Methodologies, CERTIFICATE of a successful COMPLETION of LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT COURSE, organized by KIST and University of Fort Hare (South Africa). He has also a certificate of translation from Russian language into other languages.
