JDr Joseph Owino
JDr Joseph Owino holds a PhD degree in Electroanalytical chemistry from the University of Western Cape, South Africa. He joined KIST as s lecturer in April 2010 from Stellenbosch University where he was involved post-doctoral research.
He was appointed the acting HOD in February 2012.
His research interests covers the development of biosensors using electroconductive polymers. Synthesis of methacrylate based hydrogels for use as novel immobilzation platforms for electroconductive polymers in fabrication of biosensors.
Other research interest is in Natural Products Chemistry which involves Bio-prospecting for anti-microbial compounds from indigenuous medicinal Plants.
