Dr. GATABAZI EMMANUEL THOMAS is a business graduate, he got his MBA in 2000 and PhD in 2012. He started his career at KIST where he was recruited in 1997 as a Tutorial Assistant in Department of Administration, which converted into the Faculty of Management and later on transferred to the School of Finance and Banking (SFB) in 2006. He was promoted to the position of Assistant Lecturer after completion of his MBA, a position he hold from 2000 to January 2001. From 2001 to September 2002, he served as a Director of Finance in the Office of the President. |

From October 2002 to June 2005, he was working on his PhD sandwich program, his candidacy was confirmed after his comprehensive viva held on 2nd June 2005. He did this simultaneous working as a Lecturer at KIST. He served as Deputy Registrar, at KIST from December 2004 to July 2005
In July 2005, he was appointed as a Commissioner of the Business Laws Reforms Commission of the Government of Rwanda. From October 2005 to October 2008, Mr. Gatabazi served as the Accountant General of the Republic of Rwanda. From November 2008, he is serving as the Vice Rector in charge of Administration and Finance at KIST. In the exercise of these duties that he assumed, Mr. Gatabazi served on board of different national and international institutions. From October 2005 to October 2008, he was a member of the East and Southern Africa Association of Accountants General (ESAAG). From June 2006 to October 2008, he served as the Chairman of the National Public Financial Management (PFM) Steering Committee. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the ESAAG from February 2007 to October 2008. Since November 2005, he is a Vice - Chairman of the Board of Directors, Rwanda Tea Authority. |
