The KIST Directorate of Research, Publication & Consultancy was established in June 2002 with the aim to be the custodian of the Institute’s research, publications, and consultancy policies.

The major functions are:

• Coordinating all Institute-wide activities related to research, publications, and consultancy service;

• Generating income for the Institute, particularly through projects and consultancy bids ;

• Creating a motivating and vibrant atmosphere for research, publications, and consultancy among staff and students throughout the campus ;

• Active searching for opportunities for research, publications and consultancy that will benefit the KIST community and the country at large ;

• Popularization of the KIST consultancy services in all key sectors of the economy ;

• Cultivating research and consultancy partnerships and network s with universities, the Industry, and other key institutions/organizations in Rwanda and abroad ;

• Disseminating/sharing knowledge accrued from research activities to the public at large.

Another activity

• Promotion of Academic Staff ;

• Organization of scientific and educational events for KIST community like scientific lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences.

The Directorate of Research, Publications and Consultancy is currently staffed by a Director and a Research officer.
