The Department of Estate Management and Valuation

The Department of Estate Management and Valuation started in 2010. Aims and philosophy of the BSc Honours Degree in Real Estate and Valuation is attuned to the mission of KIST of anchoring fast national growth and development through a vibrant construction industry, by supplying sufficient well trained, creative, competent professional Land valuers and Estates managers. The programme aims to engage learners over a period of four (4) years in theoretical and practical skills development to enable them solve practical Real Estate issues and periodically develop and review policy.

The four year BSc (EM) course provides learners with the requisite terminology, current knowledge and analytical skills to participate fully in decision-making regarding:

  • Real Estate Finance, Investment and Development,
  • Real Estate Valuation and Appraisal
  • Real Estate Management, Administration and Maintenance
  • Real Estate Law and Policy
  • Real Estate Agency/Brokerage/Marketing
  • Real Estate Research, Education and Training

The graduates in Estate Management and Valuation who are motivated are able to continue the postgraduate and post-doctoral studies so that they can get attractive jobs.

Admission requirements:

To qualify for Bachelor of Science in Estate Management and Valuation, the candidate needs the following subject combination:

  • Physics-Chemistry-Mathematics
  • Mathematics-Physics-Geography
  • Physics-Economics-Mathematics
  • Mathematics-Physics-Computer Science
  • Relevant technical courses (ETOs)
