The Department of Creative Design has built a name for itself as the pioneer, being the only one in Rwandan Institutions offering the design programme. The programme aims to train and equip designers with skills in Communication Design and Creative Media which enables them to exit as experts in Digital Media, Film/Video, 3D Animation, Graphic Design, Advertising, Photography, 2D Animation, Illustration and Web Design. The designers are also trained in the areas of Fashion & Textile Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design and Landscaping and Product/Industrial Design.
The main aim of the Programme is to train and equip designers with knowledge and skills to handle design needs and the acute shortage of design expertise in Rwanda. With the new state of the art lab and latest design technology, it will develop graduates with a high artistic quality and professional parity, in order to confront every issue that arises in the visual communication field. It will also develop Designers with creativity, imagination, originality and professionalism for the employment market which is well in line with Rwanda’s vision 2020.
The department of Creative Design is where you need to be if you have interest in creating an impact in the world. Whether you have no background in Art or don’t know how to draw, you can excel in creativity and innovation, produce cutting-edge design with the latest technology, win awards and competitions, show your work at leading venues and go on to work with top international companies.
Admission requirements:
To qualify Bachelor of Science in Creative Design, the candidate needs the following subject combination:
- Biology-Chemistry-Geography
- Mathematics-Physics-Computer Science
- Art or Drawing Design or Computer
