Welcome to E-Health Center of Excellence
The
E-Health Center of Excellence was established in January
15, 2010, on a seed grant of five hundred thousand US
Dollars (USD 500,000) from Rockefeller Foundation. The
Center’s aim is to provide skills development in
health informatics, at all levels, and engage in research
and development in e-health solutions. The Centre will
serve as a regional facility, where the countries bordering
Rwanda, and beyond are expected to benefit from the service.
Objectives

- To achieve and maintain excellence in Health Informatics
education.
- To provide community oriented, inquiry driven Health
Care education .
- To initiate and sustain health science research
- To develop public private partnership in health care.
- To become a Regional center of Excellence in Health
Informatics Training.
Mission
To provide high quality, need based health care education
embracing the latest Information Technologies.
Vision
Community empowerment in health and to inculcate skills
among health care professionals.
KIST
is in the process of signing MOUs with a number of world
class universities in U.S.A, operating mature health informatics
activities. These include the University of Washington,
the University of Maryland, and Tulane University, as
well as several key universities on the African continent.
These efforts are to support the Center’s development
efforts to be of the world standard standing.
