FACULTY OF
ARCHITECTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN
Towards the end of 2008, KIST established the Faculty of Architecture
and Environmental Design (FAED), with the aim of training relevant
experts and technocrats needed in the country and the region as
a whole. These shall include Architects, Urban & Regional Planners,
Urban Designers, Quantity Surveyors, Land Valuers and Estate Managers,
Construction Managers. It is envisaged that, when fully established,
the faculty will have the following departments:
- Department of Architecture
- Department of Construction Management
- Department of Planning
- Department of Creative Design
FAED will offer the following degree programmes:
- Bachelor Degree in Architecture (5 years) and Master Degree
in Architecture (1 year)
- Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying (4 years)
- Bachelor Degree in Estate management & Valuation (4 years)
- Bachelor Degree in Creative Design. (4 years)
At the moment, the Department of Architecture has the first intake
of 25 students going to the second year.The exit award after 5 years
shall be a Degree of Bachelor of Architecture. Students may continue
for another one year to get a Master's Degree in Archecture.
Other 3 departments which will offer respective degree programmes
are planned to start in January 2010.
