Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemistry
The B.Sc. Applied Chemistry is a four year degree program designed such that the graduating candidates will acquire the following skills. The Graduate will be able to: explore the boundary of knowledge in modern chemistry, both through study and discussion of research, literature review and researcher, Use, evaluate, and apply a variety of teaching and learning methods, including developing ability to learn independently, Appreciate and relate the impact of Chemistry in the modern world, particularly as used in the modern pharmaceutical industry, Demonstrate the ability to write, conduct and analyse scientific data from a research project and critically discuss the results in appropriate scientific formats, apply creativity in the solution of problems, apply professional judgment to balance risks, costs, benefits, safety, reliability and environmental impact in relation to aspects of Chemistry, have the ability to analyze critically experimental results and determine their strength and validity, propose and apply creative solutions to chemical and related problems.
Admission Requirements
For admission into the Applied Chemistry
degree programme, a minimum of two principal passes in Chemistry
and Biology at Secondary School Advanced level is needed from
any of the A-level combination
Government sponsored students are selected by the Rwanda
National Examinations Council. Privately sponsored students
should apply directly to the Institute's office of the Registrar
