3. PROGRAMME BACKGROUND AND
RATIONALE
Please include a brief statement indicating how the proposal
integrates into the academic development strategy of the Faculty(s)/School/Centre
(s) involved. This statement should include the following:
- The rationale for programme development
- How the development integrates into the Faculty/ school/Centre’s
portfolio, mission and objectives
- A summary of examples of research and other scholarly
activity that underpin the programme
- Outline statement of demand, including evidence of student
and employer demand
- Proposed relationship with other Institute programmes
in terms of course development and sharing
- Confirmation that agreement has been reached regarding
the location of subject specific courses
