- A joint degree would be X plus Y.
A Major/Minor degree would be X with Y.
A triple Minor degree would be X with Y and Z.
If a student studies more than 3 subjects they would be
awarded a combined studies degree.
- Bachelor’s Degree with honours may be rated as
follows:
Bachelor’s Degree with First class honours
Bachelor’s Degree with Second Class honours (upper
division)
Bachelor’s Degree with Second Class honours (lower
division)
Bachelor’s Degree with Third Class honours.
- Where the programme specific regulations allow, the above
awards may be granted with merit or distinction.
- All awards may be conferred as aegrotat awards, providing
thatthe Assessment Board is satisfied,
from the work that has been submitted, that the candidate
would, had s/he been assessed, have achieved the level necessary
for the award. If sufficient evidence exists for a judgement
to be made, a candidate in Honours year may be awarded a
degree with honours. A candidate is not obliged to accept
an aerostat award but may elect to be (re ) assessed if
such opportunities exist.
- Any award of the Institute may be conferred posthumously.
- Additional award titles may be agreed at the time of
programme approval, subject to approval by Senate.
