London, (UK) Prof. Peter Piot, Prof. Geoffrey Garnet and
Dr. Heidi Larson visited KIST on 16th July, 2009
Professor Peter Piot accompanied by Professor Geoffrey
Garnet and Dr. Heidi Larson, from the Imperial College,
London, (UK) visited KIST on 16th July, 2009. They were
in KIST for a project partnership on water sanitation
system.
At KIST, they were received by the Rector, Prof. Abraham
Atta Ogwu and the Academics Vice-Rector John S.Mshana
.In his welcome message, Prof. Ogwu thanked them for having
graced KIST with their timely visit. He said that energy
is a very huge opportunity for investment in Rwanda, climate
change and control affect Rwanda dramatically.

| He also added that academic research and
training in Micro and Hydro power, Bio technology, solar
energy are needed in Rwanda.
After their discussion, they were taken around KIST IV
Laboratories where they visited different KIST IV Laboratories.
They were impressed by the current achievements made by
KIST. They said that KIST laboratories have made a huge
impact on improving practical studies in sciences and
technology for all domains in Rwanda and in the region.
